Welcome to yet another blog post in our interview series. This time, I would like to introduce one of our 2015 summer interns, Ruby Tidwell.

Meet Ruby. She adapts quickly, learns fast, works efficiently, and speaks calmly. Ruby worked with us for nearly three months before going back to school. While she was with us, at Infinity, I asked her some questions. Let's see her answers.

Name, Company, Title, City

Ruby Tidwell; Infinity Interactive; Intern Extraordinaire; Pahoa, HI/Monmouth, OR

When did you first work with Infinity?

June 2015

What are six words you think of when you think of Infinity?

People transcending time/space to create

I wrote something similar to this in a conversation with Emal a few weeks ago; it struck me that it summed up my experience here so far. Infinity is people driven, even while spread across state lines, oceans, and many time zones. While maintaining this community (and likely because of it), Infinity is able to use its many great minds to design, create, and deliver quality products. The potential at Infinity is, fittingly, infinite.

What is your favorite time of day/week/year?

My favorite times (and sometimes the challenging times) are those of transition, whether that be the seasons changing, sunrises or sunsets, or even moving to/from the weekends. These in-between periods keep me present.

What is your favorite mode of transportation and why?

I may be missing out on a Ruby on Rails joke here, but I like airplanes. Flights usually mark important chapters or events in my life, and they give me a chance to disconnect and be still for a while.

What are six words to describe technology in your work? In your life?

With great power comes great responsibility.

What technology do you (realistically) look forward to arriving in the next 5 years? What if it didn’t have to be realistic?

I’m still waiting for teleportation to be a thing. That would solve a lot of my hardships.

Social media - Friend or foe? Both? Neither?

Social media - like most things - is just another tool, and is not inherently good or evil. I’ve found my balance with minimal facebook usage, and that’s about all I want/need right now.

How do you recharge?

An unsweetened iced tea and a good song does my soul good.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

Naturally, the ability to instantly change superpowers at will.

What would a perfect day look like for you?

A perfect day for me is one where I spend time with people I care about, working together to make progress on something that helps someone. I try to create lots of perfect days for myself.
